    Default Rend Lake

I am heading to Rend Lake tomorrow to do some long lining and pulling cranks.
This will be the first time at Rend Lake for me. Is anyone having any luck lately on Rend.

Are there any general parts of the lake I should check out? Any special colors or depths.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks, Karl

Probably not what you want to hear, but you probably better off to forgo the trolling and single pole. Just my 2 cents....

I would run deeper water or just adjacent to the deeper water paying attention to an kind of additional attractant like structure and I would look for the shad schools and use something that imitated them. I doubt there is a day that someone does not catch fish vertical on a brush pile it's a Rend speciality. And I would say part of the day that will be right. But I fished Gunn creek one day last fall and caught a lot of fish chasing shad by casting ...but it was a rainy day with a front pushing through.Sunny and warm ...bet they hold on cover a good part of the day..but should get active at least part of the day. In September I almost always catch fish good the last hour or two of the day chasing shad or shad fry.
