    Default Shelbyville in October question

If a fella was going to make a trip to Shelbyville in mid to late October, where would you regulars suggest as a good place to stay. Not looking for 5 star. but also not a dump. Is there a section of the lake that is better this time of year and/or a technique that works better than others. Never been there, only seen satellite pics so any input is appreciated.

Coon Creek Lodge is a great place to stay and Mike is a C.C member and a great guy. That time of year you can catch fish just about anywhere and with any style of fishing you like. I personally like to spider rig but a jig tipped with a minnow would work great too. Fall camp will be going on about that time of year and would be a great way to meet some of us and find out what is working at that time and what area is producing good fish.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

As I get older, I want to work less and fish more. I also realize that a lot of good fishing isn't that far away. I can get to Shelbyville in about 6 hours and Rend in about 7. Sounds like a long trip until I think about the 10-12 hrs to get to the west end of the upper peninsula, and I'm still in Michigan. Some day soon I will make the trip south, who knows, maybe it will be this year. Thanks for the response.
