Default Menorial Day Fishing- Not Crappie

A fellow veteran and I went Walleye fishing today. We decided to try our luck with another species and prepare for our annual trip to Canada. We didn't catch any keepers, but had a great time.

The Saugeye were hitting hard and furious. We jigged through the weed edges on the flats. Didn't take long to figure out the double tap of the Saugeye and a weed pull. Most frustrating part was all the bait stealing going on. Not sure how they managed to steal the worm and leave the hook empty. Sometimes they would tease us and leave a little worm on the hook, however most times the hook was bare, not even a fish on the other end. It was still a great day on the water.

Hanr3, where do you go in Canada? I'm always looking for new places to go try...Been going for 40 some years an have found that it's best to hear from another fisherman than a lodge owner...

My local Boy Scout council has a place called Cache Lake. It's not actually on Cache Lake. We are about 8-12 mile boat ride north from Handberg Marine & Marina on Crane Lake MN. We go up for a week to help close the Scout camp down for the winter. Camp has a 40 bed cabin, mess hall, shower house, boat house, fish cleaning house, and a ranger cabin. We fish around the Sand Point Lake area. Nearest resort is Sand Point Lodge. It's a couple miles from camp and the only location to get cell reception when their repeater station is working. https://www.sandpointlodge.net/
