I fished Evergreen. At 5.30ish am we were the second boat at the White Oak ramp. We left at 1ish and the parking lot was packed. While I love/hate the restriction of 10hp. It does keep the pleasure craft off the lake. We do get the occasional Kayakers and Sail-boaters. But they give and get respect.
I talked to a few kayaker friends who went to Banner Marsh over the weekend. They all said the same thing, the weeds are tough to get through. Even in a kayak.
As for Clinton, the only chance you have during the day is the hp restricted section south of the bridge, or in the back of coves. the main lake gets chewed up real bad by the pleasure craft from about 10am-5pm or so.
I will be camping/fishing at Clinton in two weeks. I prefer to hit the water at first light and be off by 10am or so. Although Mascoutin ramp can be a challenge at that time, pleasure craft start launching. I head back to camp for brunch and a nap. Might do a bike ride, or head back out around supper time for the evening bite. Get back in camp just after dark for dinner and evening activities around the campfire. Maybe I'll see you there?
