    Default my annual etiquette rant

My rant comes early this year. Usually doesn't rear its ugly head until April. Weekend fishing in February shouldn't bring out people's rudeness, inconsideration, and lack of fishing etiquette on the water...it's too soon. I was amazed today how many times boats came in on me, up from behind me, and right through me while fishing like it was nothing. Now I get that people are excited to be out but come on. Here's the main rules that everyone needs to bone up on...use common sense and practice the golden rule (don't do something you don't want done to you). It seems like there is alot of non-sense on the water, maybe it's novice boat operators, maybe it's rookie fisherman...I don't think so. Ignorance is not a valid excuse for inappropriate behavior. Surely no one else has made similar observations? Ok I'm all done until next year. Let's all play nice. There's plenty of water for everyone

Hopefully sooner than later! This is supposed to be a non-combative
    sport. Stay safe out there.

It amazes me how rude people are sometimes ......My Mom is 94 and still hasn't gotten over the rude bass fishermen that moved in on her spot while she was bank fishing. She politely tried to explain to them that they had the whole lake and didn't need to be casting into her spot ..... They continued to cast into where she was fishing. She finally got so aggravated that she cast over their line and intentionally tangled with it.

Maybe we should start a thread where we post pictures of the people misbehaving....It would give a little outlet to people who have been offended and maybe shame some of the people who are acting badly.

yep a73, DB40, & BB...it's interesting how different people respond to these situations. I've seen a few ugly interactions. Not sure if that really accomplishes anything. I mostly ignore it...not sure if that is too effective either. Just more dignified I suppose. It's not worth getting into trouble over. Like you guys said...karma is a...

To make a long story short... my fishing partner tied on a musky jitterbug just to cast it into a sailboats sail. Yes , they left us alone.

I'm not sure I would go that far ..... I have PRETENDED to cast in the direction of some of those people who go out of their way to roar by as close as they can ... no matter where you are on the lake. That usually causes them to do a quick diversion ......But if you accidentally nail one of them with a muskie bait ....you could do some major damage.

I was fishing on the bank one time when boat load of drunken guys in a boat started fishing right in front of me. I bounce the jig off the side of their boat. They was amazed at how far i could cast and so they left.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
