The world is full of scammers and it is getting worse. Almost EVERYTHING on the Internet is a rip off. If you have a telephone land line you're a target for continuing robo-calls which you CANNOT stop! My advice is to only use your credit card for items you want to purchase from firms you know to be legitimate. NEVER give personal information to any 'company' you don't know. Use CASH whenever possible. It's safer and you can only lose what you spend. In GOD we trust, and ONLY God!

ichabod, thanks for the heads up. we ordered that and thanks to you we were able to get it canceled. We went through the credit card company and they recorded the conversation with the face cream people. Like you said I had to argue with them and keep telling them to cancel the order. It took a few tries but I finally got it done and it has been recorded. Thanks again. Bo

Gotta read the fine print on EVERYTHING on the internet. Sometimes better read it 2 or 3 times.

Thanks for the warning. For the most part, I follow the Dave Ramsey plan...pay cash when you can.

I don't want to diminish those that are victims but think some humor might help.

I don't buy anything someone calls me to sell. Door to door kids is another story and I will support my local youth organizations.
We too follow the Dave Ramsey philosophy, in fact I am teaching a course now.

As for $4.95 for make-up. No offense, however my wife wouldn't touch the stuff. Not sure if she spends more on makeup, purses, manicures, etc. than I do on fishing? Thanks for the heads up thou.

On a related note: My mom got a call from Nicaragua saying my youngest son was in prison and she needed to send money immediately to bail him out. She panicked, and called the family, my brother got ahold of my oldest son to confirm it was a scam.

Check this one out. Got a call from unknown number. Dont usually answer but I did. The woman with a very recognizable foreign accent said... : "We have detected that your computer has a virus. For $49.95 on your credit card we can remove it immediately." Ok I know this was a pathetic try to steal my info but here is the punchline. Next day phone rings, different number, same voice as yesterday. She says (not kidding people), "We have detected a computer virus in your septic tank. For $49.95 we can remove it."
