Me 2!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
My wife found a piece of driftwood from the ocean on our honeymoon that looks like a perfect log to mount a crappie on. I've never really wanted to mount a fish but hey whatever it takes to keep her happy.... Now I have an excuse for the 4 days at Washington, 5 on Grenada and 3 at Reelfoot this spring!
Since I'm only a mile from the Mississippi, I'd like to find out where the big Crappie hang out on the river. (Any of you guys catch Crappie on the Mississippi?)
Years ago, and I'm talking over 40 years, my dad and I took his Jon boat up in a long side slough on the Missouri River in the spring. We a caught a big mess of Slabbers that day. The water was almost "green" vs the chocolate-colored main river channel. They evidently went up in there to spawn. Every one was a dandy, probably 12 inches or more.
Also, and I hope this isn't sacrilegious but I'd like to learn how to catch those big Hybrid Stripers in Otter Lake. (When I'm not fishing for Crappie, of course.)
I just want to be more consistent catching fish this year. Now that I've figured out how to use side scan and put marker buoys on the brush I find, I think that might just happen
Man that's why I love this site all genuine people with realistic goals. I like how one of us ask a simple question and we get these great responses Live you all Fish on and God bless. May we land the crappie of our dreams
