Default Need Info - Planning Trip to Lake Shelbyville

Planning on coming down probably in June or July for some crappie fishing. Been looking at The Spillway Motel in Shelbyville. Is that a decent place to stay? Also if anyone is willing to give me some starting points to get some crappie I would appreciate it. I will only be there Friday thru Sunday so I don't want to do a whole lot of searching. I saw a thread where some trees were dropped recently in the Wilburn ramp area. Would that be a good place to go? If you don't want to put your info on this thread then PM me if you are willing to help a guy out. Thanks

Coon creek lodge is a good place to stay. It is close to eagle creek ramp which is half way up the lake so it not as far as run to go either direction. the south end will probably be the best place to fish by then time of year. You are in town if you stay at the spillway, but its not to far to town if you need anything from coon creek either. I will be there most likely on Sat and Sunday, and I have a campsite right by the lodge at coon creek. I can help you out, be more than glad too. You can ever come over for a cold beverage and more than likely I will have the smoker going

Gregory's Resort on the south end of the lake is ok too. Nothing fancy but it's comfy and the prices are right. Also, they are veteran owned and a supporter of our annual Crappie camp so it's good to support them.

Gregory's has been doing lots of remodeling and is looking good. You can follow clfarms1 following me around to catch some fish. That time of year spider rigging 12-14 feet down in 15-30 fow using minners works best.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

If I read the regs correctly you can troll with three rods per person and each rod can have up to two hooks each. Is that correct? Talked to my buddy this morning. Looks like we will be there sometime around mid July.
