    Default Kincaid Lake Murphysboro, IL

Checking to get some pointers on Lake Kincaid. Going to make a trip down there the 28th of this month. Any ideas would be appreciated. Is there lodging near by and ideas for restaurants would be helpful. Where would be a good place to start hunting the crappie. Thanks in advance for the tips.

baw, the closest motel will be in Murphysboro. If you like bbq check out 17th st bbq. if you like Italian a little place called cumaries. both are in Murphy. been thinking of trying kinkaid this year. I live about 20 miles from it. It was really muddy. The north end stays fairly dirty much of the time in the spring. have not talked to anyone that has fished it in the past couple of weeks. It can be tough sometimes trying to get a large boat in the lake from the norh ramp at times. They have had problems with siltation in the lake.

Me and some friends will be down there the same weekend I have a red 1800 lund alaskan if you see us give us a wave or stop by. I asked for info before and got some help there is a couple of motels in Murphysboro, and cabins for rent by the marina, i bought a hot spot map planning on working the downfalls and standing timber to start with as long as finder shows fish not sure what water temps will be. Local bait shop nearby should be helpful (I was told) so we will stop there first. It will be the first time any of us have fished this lake so part of the fun of fishing is finding the fish go luck to you. We will be there Thurs, Fri, Sat, and 1/2 day Sun. should be two tracker Targa's by me starting Fri. They have to work Thurs me and my partner are retired so we will start on Thurs. Again stop by I will share any info I have.

I did not know about the cabins at the marina. The weekend of the 28th should be close to being about right if the weather stays on your side. good luck

America's Best Value Inn is in Murphysboro, reasonably priced, and is setup for fisherman. They have multiple hookups for charging your batteries.
Do not leave the area without making it to 17th Street BBQ!

Glad to know "YALL" can get boats in the water.
