I would like to know as well. Weather is suppose to be nice this coming weekend. Kinkaid Lake as well. Anyone know if either one of these lakes would have open water?

Can't tell you ice thickness, but I seriously doubt you'll put a boat on rend this weekend unless you're willing to break ice and a lot of it!

Very little open water, did a drive by this afternoon. nothing at all north of 154 and only a few open holes out in the middle on the south end. Some is 4+ inches. As always the thickness of ice on Rend varies greatly, that's why not much ice fishing goes on here. The only ramp that might be open is damn west. But I did not go by it.

Ice at the ramps varies thinnest I found today was 4" at dam west. I would say 95% of the lake is covered only a few small holes open.

I broke the Dam West and the Gun creek ramp you still have to go threw chunk ice to get to open water but they are usable. Not much open water in gun but 80% south of 154 is open.

Thanks Nick. We'll have to get you a Coast Guard commission.
