djcoop52, I drove by the lake last Saturday and it was way up from the recent rains. I don't know what the lake level was prior to the rain last Wednesday, but according to the US Army Corps of Engineers river and reservoir daily report, today's level is 409.72 with average pool this time of year being 407.95. It did look significantly higher Saturday 4/5 than on Wednesday 4/2. I plan on heading over there Saturday to give it a try. If anything, the weather is supposed to be nice! Good luck.
good luck, maybe west of 154 bridge into gun creek along road may give you a break out of the wind.....
Anyone having any luck catching any crappie or catfish on Rend with the high muddy water?? I'm planning on on heading down this weekend to try for either crappie or catfish just wondering how the bite is. Thanks
Catfish are biting good just head to any creek. Crappie are fair and every warm day they get better.
Thanks mean green for the info. I'll be giving it a shot Saturday and Sunday
Rule of thumb...when the water is up, the fish are up...when the water is down, the fish are down. If the water is that high and muddy, I would fish 1'-5', upsize your bait, and slow down the presentation.
Fish the bushes; and be prepared to cuss a lot, when you miss one or 20 of them
FYI there is a night bowfishing tourney sat night and Fri night lots of scouting. Just saying the band ks are gonna be beat to death day and night
