    Default Shelbyville Spankin'

Got my first whuppin' on Shelbyville for 2014. Fished 7 hours out of Wilborn to Beckett's. Took me all day to catch about a dozen fish just either side of 10". Best water temperature all day was 44 degrees and that was late in the day at cornbread bottoms. Fished Becketts for 2 hours without a bite. Fish that I did catch were in the standing timber 9' deep from cottage grove to the RR bridge.

Wish I was with you, not catching many fish. Your day was still better than mine. I was at work.

No worries bud, you ain't alone. I've yet to limit out and my buddy has been getting his bout every trip we make! We are bank fishing for now and he went Sunday for about 4 hours and caught his limit. I was still thawing out from Saturday!
Most men spend their entire life fishing, without realizing its not the fish they are after!

Me and a buddy were there also. we fished from 11:30 to 3:30 and had 7 overs all out of cottage hill 8-9 foot deep on standing timber. We were in a red and white Ranger 520. Were you in a skeeter?

There was another red/white/black ranger fishing the trees there too which is a good buddy of mine. He got his limit but said he fished from 1030-4 and said it look him over 2 hours to get his last 2. He did have some nice fish though. He fished the same pattern as y'all.

Yeah Bob, I was in the Skeeter. I thought that might be you but I don't see that well and I'm lousy at recognizing boats on the water. Sounds like I need to trade it for some waders and corks and go back to walking the bank.

Bird, if your buddy put in at Wilborn, I think I spoke to him while we launched. Great guy, offered to help me launch and even TRIED to put me on the right pattern. But noooooo, I thought I knew better.

Saw Dad B. today and I think he caught a few. I had a limit and a half in two hours. Once I found them It was sort of fun. Didn't even need a water taxi. 6-8 foot over 15 fow.

Yep--I think he was catching supper.. He had two in his bucket before I caught a keeper, even though I didn't keep any. Boy are there some nice fish biting, if that wind would just let up a bit.
