Default Quick replies please... staying out of wind today at Sangchris??

Is there an area around the ramp by the stacks that is out of the wind to fish when the wind is out of the North? I was thinking about going over after lunch today. Thanks for quick replies.

Not really. North and South wind both seem to come right down the ditch. You might be able to hunker in real close to the west side and get some knock down, there are also some longer coves on the east side that may get you out of the wind a little. Make sure you report on the number of trailers in the parking lot. Thanks

You might stay out of the wind on the dam somewhat. Probably want to put in at the east ramp if you do that. Probably wont be to many trailers at the east ramp today to count

I'm not familiar at all with the lake. How do i get to the dam from Decatur, I'll be going West out of Taylorville. Also, Jeep in mind I only have a trolling motor. Thanks

wont work to well for that,. You can fish the cove right at the boat ramp and I have seen a lot of crappie caught there and It would probably be out of the wind. I don't know that way good enough to get you there without getting you lost. Just google a map and you can tell how. I don't know for sure if that cove and ramp is open for sure, I think it would be but cant be positive.
