I'm from the Iowa Quad Cities & do most of my crappie fishing on smaller lakes in Southeast Iowa, the Miss. River and occasionally West Lake.

Sounds good! Im a located just across the I80 bridge here in IL. I started crappie fishing last year after 15 years of serious bass fishing I needed to find a new thrill, so crappie it is! I mainly fish the Hennepin Canal and Lake Storey & MacBride last year in Solon. Nice to communicate with others in this area! Thanks for the Reply!

There are some crappies in Lake George to be had also. If you travel to Mcbride, you may want to try places like Lake Iowa, Geode in Burlington, the sand pits in Muscatine and Lake Belvidere. Closer to home, the credit island slough can be good for crappies also. Try around the bike bridge bases and if you can find them, there are some rock piles in there as well.

I normally fish around the Clinton to Savanna area a little north of you. Ive made the trip down to Storey a few times and theres tons of crappie in there but doesnt seem to be to many nice ones. Fished the river for crappie for the first time yesterday and only had one bite all day and that was about a 13" crappie that flopped off at boatside. Once this water warms up a tiny bit more and maybe even come down a little there should be some good crappie fishing on the river.

Nice to meet you. It's always good to be in contact with others in the area to determine how the fish are doing! I think I'm going to try lake George the next chance I get (weather permitting).
