Just got back from a few days in Mississippi. We started out on grenada thursday morning and conditions sucked.. left with 3 fish and went to enid where I had several reports of people whackin em there and a buddie on the water who ended up getting their 40 fish limit. We found some fish there, but not a lot. Day 2 went back to enid as we had ridiculous winds and I could get out of it at enid. We ended up finding some nice fish in a protected area on brush, tires, and rocks...yes tires. lol. Spider rigging minner rigs 1-3ft deep in 3-4 foot of water. Yesterday we went back to grenada and had an incredible day. Ended with 39 and lost a good 15+ on top of the water. The fish are just unreal there, super thick fish and crazy tall, length isnt bad too Had two fish 16+ inches yesterday and 12 that were between 15-16". We ended up only having 2 fish of the 39 that were under 13 inches and big 7 ended up weighing 16.9! Believe it or not we actually had some females oozing eggs when we netted them, lots of fish bulging with eggs, some males are dark, but the vast majority of the fish are still staging and a week or two away. Next warm spell will be real good there, crappiemasters could have some scary heavy weights! Water temps dropped 11 degrees to 51 degrees between the day before we got there and when we left and we had some pretty terrible weather for fishing. Lots of rain and wind and overcast with temperatures riding around 45-50 degrees but had a good time. Mississippi truly has some amazing fishing.
These are from enid...some real nice fish from a lake thats not really known for it.
Fishy!
