    Default Looking for information

Looking for general information. Rend lake I have never fished it. Looking at attempting it around the end of March. Under normal conditions. I know that don't happen very often how is the Crappie fishing? Just wanting to try something new.

Frank--I've never been there--but by reading what's been said about Rend here, I am quite confident saying it's FANTASTIC!!
Just read through the threads on Rend. Always worthwhile to get a quide for the first day or two and again, by reading here I know there are several excellent guides. Some day I hope to get down there for a few days in a row.

Go to the Rend Lake Fishing report, google it, it will show up. He gives great updates and at the bottom of the report, the Corps of Engineers has a listing of gps locations to use.

Shallow lake but a great place to fish. Bait and minnows are hard to find though. Good luck and have fun, end of March is a little early.

The Whittington exit off of 57 has a Shell gas station; going East 4 blocks off the Interstate. They sell minnows

Mean Green 2 is a guide on the lake. Slab recommends him along with several other people on cdc.

I know there are more guides; just the other ones dont come to mind right now. I apologize for not mentioning the other guides; cant remember more names

Crappie xTreme might be a guide? At least Scott can help you out with finding a guide

worst thing you would encounter be high wind, high water & mud. just look at what other boats are doin, 9 outa 10 (or more) will be crop fishin. Jigs work just as good or better than minners, puta nibbler on if you must. Size limit / number is enforced. Head the wind, gets bad quick. Not all ramps open until April.
