    Default Summer crappie fishing!

Summer is one of my favorite times of the year to be out on the lake! Fish are feeding more heavily now than any other time of the year to recover body weight they've lost during the spawn. The fishing has been awesome on Crab and Rend the last couple weeks with Kinkaid getting ready to produce in the coming weeks. Live bait in the 8 - 12 foot range has been working the best for us. Slip corks, drop shots, and fishing a bare Road Runner vertically with a medium shiner on B'n'M bgjp's have all worked really well as of late. On Kinkaid, you can just started to notice a faint thermocline and a lot of activity from 10 foot deep back to the surface on the electronics. That's always a sign that the fish are going to make a push out to their main lake summer homes. Can't wait for that! I've got a couple dates open this month and a day or two during the week, each week in July. Anyone interested in some great summer fishing, give me a shout.

Thought I had the walleye figured out on Kinkaid, I was wrong. Went from 2 day feast to famine. Crappie weren't biting cranks yet either.

Is the bite on all day during the week? I can only make it out in the evenings on Rend and Kincaid and was wondering if its worth going from 5pm til dark on a weeknight?

Yes, the bite is usually steady throughout the day. That should give you 4 hours of pretty good fishing!

I haven't been to Kincaid this summer yet. I always have a tough time even finding brush.
I have improved my electronics to at least Down Imaging, so I'm going to make my way down in the next couple weeks.
