Default Keel guard on alluminum boat

Has anyone ever thought of putting a roll on bedliner on the keel of their alluminum boat?? Keel guard and keel shield do not think that one would stay on my present crestliner's keel. Any opinions????

read somewhere that a coat of bedliner on the bottom would create alot of drag due to the rough texture. What are you trying to accomplish, seal a leak or ?
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

If its on the inside it would be alright plus an anti slip floor is always nice.

I was just wanting to do the extended keel itself so I could launch and beach the boat on the ramp without damaging the keel. I had a keel guard on my ranger and I would beach it on the ramp, when the courtesy docks weren't in, and it never even scratched it. I had thought about the rough texture being a drag, but I would only have to but it on the actual keel and only about a third of that.

I have an Alumacraft Yukon (aluminum boat) with a keel shaped much like the above pic. I also looked into keelguard options and have decided not to put anything on it as of yet. From what I gathered, a quality spray on bedliner material on the keel only might be a good option, but the cost was prohibitive. I was pricing material and labor (having a quality product installed professionally). Good luck with your quest and keep us posted if you come up with a good option for a keelguard.
