Don't bother me at all that Daddy guides on the lake. I would'nt pay for a guide on my home lake anyway. The people that are upset are the ones who think by giving out information that makes them a better sportsman than those who don't. I know and fish with a lot of people on Shelbyville who really know how to get it done on this lake. They don't feel the need to come on here and talk about everytime the get a limit.. These same people would be glad to help you if they know you by your name. They just prefer to do it not on an internet forum.. Before you all start telling me how unsportsman like that is. Let me Explain... I have been a memeber on here for a long time. What I like about CDC is reading about equipment, rods, reels, fishing line, baits, boats motors. The list goes on and on. The fact that I chose not to publicly broadcast my fishing reports in deatail is just a choice I make. I have fished with Birdman several times over the years and learned a few things as well. We veiw things differently but, we still remain freinds. Anyone that knows me also knows I will help them if I can. Just not going to do it on a public forum when it comes to Detailed reports. There are to many other things to talk about on here other than giving a detailed report everytime you put your boat in the water. Find some freinds who really like to crappie fish and you won't need to ask on a forum how to catch em. Last but not least. Yes I have met some great people on this forum and hope to meet a few more someday. Good luck to you all.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

Here is my 2 cents on this matter, I don't care who guides on Shelbyville but I think there sould be a limit on how many there sould be. If you get too many guides, then that would put the hurt on the fish. With that being said, it does make us that fish just for fun and to catch some for a meal hard. God know and I have seen this that when I do fish from a boat everyone want to come right up and fish right up your butt. And that is not counting on all the vacationers who I do welcome cause that does help the economy for our community.

Not that anyone asked me, but I don't think that's cool at all. Tyler is very generous with helping people and if I was him, I'd feel as though I was taken advantage of.

Besides that, how is school Tyler?

Personally, I do not care who guides on the lake. However, as a paying client it would bother me that my guide has so little confidence in his abillity to put me on fish that he feels it necessary to get on a website such as this one and seek daily information as to where, how, and when to catch the fish. I know several guides on the lake quite well, and to my knowledge, although they are more than willing to give me help, have never solicited information from the local fishermen on this or any other website.

I don't know most of you guys personally, but seems like everyone has an opinion.....so I have one too.

Making a living guiding is a VERY tough job, and I tip my hat to most people who choose to put themselves on the line on a daily basis to do that. If you turn out not to have the skills to accomplish the job it will be real hard on the ego. I have only used a guide a few times in my life, but always got a good trip.

Good luck on your venture slabdaddy.

I myself don't care who guides on Shelbyville . It's a big lake and I'm sure there is places to this day that has not been fished . I don't get out like I used to but wish I could . Anybody that knows me over there can ask me and I'll help them . I've even been fishing an area and invited people to fish the same hole I am . I don't care. Now lets go fishn and stop bitchn

OH BOY, keep this up and I may put MY 2 cents in,,,,but some of you already know how I feel....so I will try to be brief. If you have a brain in your head, you should know that every word missssspellllled here will be read by a lot of people. The thing you have to remember is that when you post on here that you caught a bunch of fish,,,,,,oh lets say,,,,,in the bay East of No Name, where you put a bunch of brushpiles and marked them with rocks ( sound familiar to someone? ) (it should) that you are probably ruining the fishing for the other guys that were already fishing in that bay, because now 10 new boats are helping you clean them. Try posting some decent current info here in 3 weeks and see how many hits it gets.
I have a suggestion for all fishermen. quit freakn cutting every keeper you get to take a pic of and save the fishery.
Make no mistake. The amount of fish leaving that lake is hurting it. The top (worst) 10 guys there are killing more than the bottom 500. WE have the best lake in the state and I would like to keep it that way. If you are one of those guys in the middle of the pack and don't always get a limit. keep some to eat whenever you go. It won't hurt a thing.
even birds know not to crap in their own nests,,,,,most of them. LOL

crappie10- just because people CAN catch a limit everytime out, doesnt mean they keep them every time out. The majority of the time I get my limit, or catch well over my limit, and I would say 50% of the time I dont keep anything just like catching them. In fact (yes I know this is illegal) the last three times out I have caught my limit from the south end, got to the ramp, and didnt feel like cleaning them so I just release them and watch them all swim away. I know xxl releases fish way way more than he keeps them, as well as several of the people he fishes with. Were not all bad fishermen, and HOPEFULLY if they cut fish, they are going to eat them and just not let them get freezer burnt. That being said.. now im going to go have to go see if I have all those piles in the east bay there marked on my gps or if I missed some!
