birdman said it about as good as it gets. its a very fun way to fish. have done it the past two years and am addicted. its like catfishing for crappie. and it can be sum fast intense action. ive literally caught 10 crappie in less than 1 minute. good luck

Hey, thanks alot guys! Ice_Gypsy, I just bought me a 2010 18.5' war eagle with a 90hp. I pick it up on Saturday and will post pictures on here soon... I dont have kids yet, but for me this seems like it would be almost the same feeling that most fathers have when they first hold their newborn child in the delivery room ! Birdman, thanks alot for the great post, it has cleared up a lot of questions that I have had. I plan on tackling Carlyle Lake a little bit this coming year with the spider-rig.

    No problem.

Mavs- down in mississippi often times we would use the same minnow for two or three fish. When we put it on its alive but after a fish its dead and we just re hook it. On Grenada it sometimes helps to change out that dead and put on a live on but on sardis they dont seem to care.

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

At about 150 to 200 medium crappie size minnows to the pound, going through 4 pounds or 800 minnows would be a whole lot of work for 7 fish. That's like baiting 6 poles with 2 hooks 60 times each. Wow!

Here's my spider rigging set up...running the I-pilot keeps me concentrating on the poles instead of the trolling motor.Thumbs Up

Do you have tracks saved in the ipilot that you follow? I tink that is the best feature of ipilot. Saves 3 tracks up to 2 miles long. just set your speed and fish!

It really comes in handy when you got fish on,you dont have to pay attention to where your going.
