Well guys, im officially spoiled. Crappie24 gave me the heads up about a month ago that he was planning to head down to Mississippi and fish and knew I wanted to come, so I went ahead and signed up. As the days got closer I didnt know what to expect but all I knew was I was getting freaking pumped! Crappie24, HALBY on this forum (lurker), and myself headed down thursday night after some tire leakage problems and arrived in Grenada at 245am Friday morning. We elected to not rent a hotel for 3 hours so we rented the Wal-Mart parking lot and had a cozy 3 hour sleep in the truck in the walmart lot...woke up, got some breakfast, set up the rods and headed to Grenada. It was a brisk 28 degrees friday morning but we bundled up and headed out. We pulled up to the first spot and I wasnt sure what to expect, so I kept my expectations low, well, before we got the rods all out we had 2 fish in the boat. A keeper crappie and a big ol white bass...ON BARE HOOKS! haha. Finally we got all set up and ended the day with 38 keepers, losing wayy to many. In reality if we got them all in that we had on we easily could have had around 50-55 keepers.. all over 12 inches. We had four 16" fish that day, several 15s and numberous 14s. Needless to say I was spoiled rotten. The next day we headed out and the wind was kicking our arses! the fish shut off and we only had 9 keepers that day but I got my personal best and the biggest of the trip a 16.25" 3lb fish! We also had another 16, and two over 15 inches that day. This morning we headed to sardis and caught 50-60 ten to 11.75 inch fish and only 7 keepers before leaving the water at 11. The fish are no doubt fatter and thicker at Grenda, but it was an experience ill never forget and lord knows I just popped another hole in my bank account thats got a constant flow coming out...I cant wait to get back!!!
