Thread: Big Pond Report

I have noticed there hasn't been a Big Pond report in a few days. I hope everything is OK.

The crappie fishin' on the lake I fish has been real poor since all of the flooding. Even the sure thing spots have dried up. Other than Saturday morning bass fishermen, no one is fishing the lake. That is very unusual this time of the year. Of course, the water looks like chocolate milk. By the time the water clears up, the dumb a** water skiers will be out. It doesn't look to be a good year.

I am a multi-species fisherman and am making the best out of a poor situation. I have noticed there seem to be no good fishing reports out of Shelbyville, so the problems I am having catching crappie may be area wide.

I have been having the same problem at my lake. I have had to adjust my tactics drastically. I am a corking tube jig junking, but the only way I can catch em is with a 2" twister tail fished as slow as possible. And the bite has really picked up after 7pm the last 2 nights. Good luck!

The Water on Lake Mattoon still muddy? Is it clearing up at all? Or is it muddy all around still?

A little birdy told me that the crappie fishing was verrrry good today on Lake Mattoon. Quite a few 11-13"s caught!

Quick everyone to matoon while the bite is on!!!

I'm going to tell everyone I know. Might even tell a few I don't know.

How is the water color at Lake Mattoon? I have not been that way this year. Thanks in advanced.
