    Default Wednesday @ Shelbyville

First thing in the morning, I saw Steve getting ready to guide. He told me he had them dialed in. No big surprise there. He does know that lake! I had a very good day on the lake. Caught plenty of fish including a thirteen, three twelve and a halfs, and bunches right at eleven. They are all still swimming. Got all my fish between five and nine feet deep in structure. I didn't pick up minnows and it didn't seem to matter. It was a great day to be on the lake and not at work! - - - - By the way. Did I see right? Just south of the railroad bridge is that sand island that appears every year when the lake is drawn down. I swear in the afternoon I saw some guy with his runabout completely beached right in the middle of that shallow spot. The water has risen enough so that the "island is a couple of inches under water. It looked like he was unaware of its existance. Anybody else see that? At any rate, no need to wait for the fishing to get good.

Good report, and agreed, yesterday was a nice day for catchin and the fishing is certainly doing ok now. Didnt see the boat south of wilborn but last week I watched a boat get stuck on the flat right on point 3. Flingin mud everywhere with big motor and eventually had to get out and push the boat out.

I gotta be honest. That water is still a little cool for this old guy to go wading! Although, if it meant getting my boat back, I might be persuaded to get wet. Guess I'll try to stay off the sand bars.
