This won't be the last one. If you have to go back far enough that your rear wheels are in the water, you had better place blocks behind the front wheels.
This afternoon truck slide into the lake at boat ramp at Wolf Creek. The Conservation Police had just launched their boat and were going around point when heard a scream. Look and saw truck sinking. Dive Team arrived shortly and quickly located vehicle. When tow truck arrived and hooked on pulled boat and trailer out. Driver was able to get out before vehicle sunk.

It sure looks like an expensive lesson. Better he than me. I reckon I am lucky, I have my own boat ramp on my own property.
!2' up on the ramp from normal pool water level anchor 1/4 in flat stock to concrete with anchors. 18in of 3/8 log chain weld each end to flat stock, leaveing a loop for tow chain or tow rope tie off or hook off!
My cost to do it...per 100 units...including labor...$40.00ea
Federal government cost to do same...$4000.00 ea
Picture of truck getting pulled out...Priceless...especially if it is yours!
If I remember correctly, I believe IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE FOR THIS TYPE OF ACCIDENT...they total the vehicle out because it is to much expense repairing all the electronics, air bag etc. It is sold to scrappers who will sometimes dry it out and it will then have a salvage title...buyer be careful!
Man I feel sorry for that guy !
Nice looking rig.
