Default Hummingbird Ice 35 for open water use

I have a humming bird Ice 35 fish finder that I use once a year, I was wondering if anybody would know if this would work in open water off a dock or pier?

Sure it will work. Just be sure to keep your bait in the cone angle. Walk around the whole dock looking for fish marks. Find them, sit down and fish. Just like icefishing only you're limited to the dock. You can use it in a boat too.

thanks. I think I may take it with me the next time I go a lake that has a lot of dock fishing. I have called hummingbird and they say it will not work said it was designed to be used below the ice. I think I will try it anyway

SlimJim.......I have used my vexilar from a pier and a boat in open water. I have caught fish both times! I have a new Hummingbird Ice 55 and plan on using it in the boat this spring. Good luck!

slimjim as long as you keep the transducer underwater the machine cant tell the difference between ice and no ice. hummingbird was just saying that in the hopes you would buy a regular unit from them
