looks great
I have been meaning to post a few pics of the mount when I got it back, but never got around to it. Not the best quality pics, not sure where the digital camera is, so here are a couple from my cell phone. I just wanted to show some of the detail that this guy puts into his work.

That's a great looking deer J! What did he end up scoring?
Hooking up every chance I get!
Thanks.. If I remember right, the taxidermist told me that he measured it out and on a Boone and Crocket it would score 139 7/8 because of the deductions. But on a Buckmasters score, it would go 168 1/8... I never will understand why a rack has to be so semetrically perfect for B&C, thats like taking 20 something inches away from a rack, if the horns are there, they should count them, not deduct for them being longer on one side.

that's a fine trophy anywhere
WOW! That is a nice buck.
OK, I wanted a more definate score on my deer, so I dropped it off tuesday at the wildlife and fisheries office in Lake Charles, they called me back this evening to go pick up my mount. The lady told me that they scored the deer and had the official paperwork for me to sign and send into Baton Rouge. She told me that it scored 140 7/8. That means that the taxidermist was pretty close with his measurement of 139 7/8. This deer has been killed since January of this year, 2009. so I would think the horns would be through drying/shrinking by now.

That was a brute, Johnny. Are you going back to Ophelia next month?
Man, that is a whopper, way to go. I've about given up on ever getting one like that,
have seen a few, but always either darting across the road in front of me
in a no-hunting zone, or at 150 yards when I got a 12 ga. loaded with
#8's in my hands :o
