Even if the old Benj or Sheridans won't pump up they are rebuild-able although you have to buy a tool to take them apart. I cheat and send mine off to a gentleman in Kansas that does a heck of a job for a reasonable fee.
This is an answer I got on an air gun site, said you would need low rings.

"Yes that's the proper mount. as for the scope you might try this one, it is the same price and has good reviews and is more than likely built the same as mine. You'll need low weaver rings if it's a x32 objective, If the rear ironsight is in the way of the scope objective it can always be moved back or removed."

Shotguns and .22's are loud and will get you a big fine, I was thinking about a pellet gun, they will kill a snake won't they?.

I've killed animals such as Ground Hogs and Raccoons with an air rifle. Saw a commercial that showed killing a feral hog.

I got a crosman Quest, I've killed squirrels, and even a opossum.

a spring piston air gun will work great on small animals from frogs to pesky cats. be sure to use a scope designed for air gun shooting. dont use a regular rifle scope on a air gun. the recoil on a spring piston gun is tough on cross hairs in scopes not designed for that kind of jaring.
