GA is tough to get a good legal bird shoot since all the cotton has replaced peanuts, sorgrum (however you spell it) and hardly anyone plants sunflowers. Best shoots have been on wheat or browntop millet cut right before season or corn where the combine had a large whole in the hopper!! Have had good late season shoots over 1-2 yr old clear cuts that are sandy. A lot of folks around here bait the heck out of them and seem to hold the birds more than us folks not willing to pay the fines. Can only shoot 12 a day here. You have to just about get into a big deer lease since most of the fields are part of those leases and the prices have gone way up for leases since the folks from FL have decided to pay over $13 an acre to hunt deer!! No more talking to the land owner unless you got a wad of cash to help the talking.
