So I thought I would go for a ride and check out a couple of my spots.. I was easing along and saw a group of hogs in a pond about 30 yards away.. got stopped, got rifle off my chest ended up shooting 1 small one maybe 45lbs?. Was hoping to get another but they got into the planted pines and thick stuff in 2 seconds or less. Since he is young and fat I will make a few steak medallions to pound flat and grind the rest for hamburger. Our hogs have plenty of water year round and the meat is very mild..no gamey taste.
