Default Florida Archery buck last month

Size: 222.6 KB. I was not able to hunt as many times as I wanted too.. I passed on a handful of 6 and 7 points. Had a doe and fawn feed by and saw a good 8 point working his way to them.. That aggressive 6 point I see most every sitting came at the doe then turned towards the good 8 point. The 8 point was 17-18 yards broadside. The buck reacted to the shot and my arrow hit further back and exited opposite side low and behind the pocket, he had to have turned at the shot.. Buck made it a ways and ended up in a 6 or 7 ft deep pond. Had to borrow a 8 ft plastic boat to get to him. If the 6 point would have not showed up I had a good chance at a 7 or 8 yard shot at a more relaxed buck I think..

Great buck! Never know what else is in those ponds, eh? That's challenging terrain for sure!

When it was drier there was a 10 ft gator in that pond. I was very concerned about him and borrowed a 8 ft plastic boat for the recovery. There are a few snakes too. In 2 weeks I plan on taking a few hogs with rifle
