Thread: Injured Deer ....

let me say this about that , man can they survive a serious wound
seen several on 3 legs in my time and others with wounds you would swear were lethal ....
this fawn on our place and her twin apparently went terribly fast under a barbed wire fence about 4 or 5 weeks ago.
her/his sister got long cuts like the doe in jmans post ....
SHE/HE got peeled like a banana , thought when I saw it fresh she/he was done for ....
nope , she/he stays tight to her/his mom and she licks it herself/himself often and this is how it looks as of last week .
couldn't post up the early images as they just flat about made me cry to see them .
can you imagine how painful that must have been ,,,,poor thing
the reason for he/she is it might be a baby buck , has tiny things on it's head that might be buttons

had a buck on a place years ago with a huge pc. of hide missing on its rump , like the size of a large pumpkin , thought he was done for sure and about a month or so later it was the size of a quarter !
pretty amazing animals for sure
