shoud I try to harvest it is the question ? there is a big 8 that is likely the buck to take away from the herd to improve the antler genetics , BUT ,,,,,it might not work out like that if the 11 gets in front of me during season .....just saying
the 8 really belongs on the dinner plate ! BUT the 11 needs to go on the wall beside the 10 from our place though to keep the symmetry of the wall correct .....

I once took a 12 and a 10 the same evening , it was an accident thought to some degree , I let one rip on the 12 point and the 12 ran off and then a minute or so passed and a huge 10 showed up , I let one fly at him and HE RAN OFF TOO !
So me thinks darnit , hope I at least find one of them in the dark .....

I would shoot the buck with the ugliest rack to improve the genetics myself. but I don't fret about it too much as a big or yearling doe would get my attention as well. I usually whack em early as the Lake and the Thump is calling my name as soon as I get to deer camp. I have my son's hongry crew to provide for and they loves them some FRESH crappie filets. Then by monday if they don't have the dozen or so we usually take I go back out to field and whack a couple more and then call them to come pick up their deer.
That 8 has a symetrical rack but if you have a solid 10 on the wall why bother? Whack whatever is in front of you then do a euro mount, quick and easy you can do yourself.
