our 3000 acre hunt club has a lot of wetlands and thick pine rows..The deer and hogs use that to their advantage. It's not like the hog killing videos you can see on YouTube where the guys can see them hundreds of yards away. What we have to do about every 3 years is bring in a guy with hog dogs and a big horse trailer..he has several high fence areas that take them. We have members that bought night scopes and they still cannot see them in the thick grass, brush and trees.. feeders do help bring them into the open. We had a guy set up traps..he got a couple and said they were to "trap smart" to catch.. The dog guy caught 65 or more in 3 days at our place last year.

That big boar looks rough and tough.. bet he has a thick shield. I have a few boxes of all copper 350 legend bullets for big boys like him.. At least I think they will work? I like to let them get in to 20 yards or less and head shoot them if they will stand still.

sometimes them big boars take lead like it aint no big deal , seen one or 2 take multiple rounds from an 30 06 and still trying to go .
dropped lots of them and had them just get up and run off like they ain't hurt .....tough as nails unless you break that spine and or skull .
was sitting on the ground one day and hit a really big sow at about 10 yards square in the face , right under her left eye and out the back of her head behind her right ear ...150 grain 30 30 and she hit the ground bounced back up and darn near ran me over ! scared the you know who who out of me and she ran 100 plus yards before she quit .....

I prefer the neck shot on those things.
I too have seen one take 3 hits from a 270, before finally going down.

I shot a big boar at 25 yards broadside with a 50 cal muzzleloader..two pyrodex drop in charges, 260 grain Barnes solid copper hollow point bullet. He ran off and I only found a drop or 2 of blood. 2 weeks later My buddy was hunting about 400 yards away and shot him in the head with a 270 killing him..When he cleaned it the boar hog had a finger sized hole in his shield but not thru it. I shot one with a 60lb recurve, about 7 yards away...same result, arrow looked to bounce out of him..Shot 2 sows later that day both arrows pass thru. Some boars get a thick shield
