223 works good on lots of critters , we use them on deer when kids are hunting
We got a big bull barreled single shot New England break open that has ZERO recoil and will flat drill a bullseye with factory ammo at 100 yards out .
Congrats on his rifle , looks nice

That upper left goup is very very nice but. Shoot all the groupsagain and the groups won't all be the same as here. Shoot several groups with each load and the loads start to weed themselves out.

Savage makes a good, accurate rifle. I picked up a model 11 in .243 about 6 years ago. Bought it with Cabela's points I'd built up. Love that gun. This morning shooting off the bipod I nailed a coyote at about 250 yards with it.

DonF Yep,I've got a same multiple 5 round combinations loaded up sitting on the reloading bench + a few others we'll shoot soon. When we get constant groups out of one we'll chrono a five shot string or two,put the data into the range finding scope set steel out from 100ish to 500ish...Then the real fun begins
