I use a Vortex and really like it. Less than $200 and tough as nails.

Bow hunting in the open? Or out of a ground blind with shoot through mesh screen? Some won't range through the mesh screen very good,if at all.
I had a Bushnell that wouldn't shoot through mesh,later bought,and still have a Nikon that does.

Thanks. Natural ground blinds, in the shadows . I use a Waldrop Pacseat to carry my gear and sit. I can lean it against a tree or fold out the legs. This will be my 3rd year with it. I've seen more deer, up close than ever before. I just have difficulty judging distances and since I hunt so many spots I can't use markers consistently.

I use a Nikon Prostaff for rifle hunting, I haven’t had any issues with it.

What distances do you find it best for Tiger Fanatic 1?

I generally use it between 200-400 yards. I don’t have depth perception, so I just use it to determine the nearest 100 yard mark. Mine was right on the money at 200 yards when I sighted in the rifle. The one I have doesn’t have the angle compensator or whatever it’s called, although I haven’t bow hunted in years, I’d likely pay the extra to have it if I were to buy today.

My nephew has the Vortex and really likes it. I have a Leupold and it was good for 10 years but I'm now having trouble with it. The Vortex warranty can't be beat whereas Leupold doesn't warranty their rangefinders. The Vortex displays in black and the Leupold displays in red. The red is good in low light but hard to see when it's bright out. I'm leaning towards Vortex
