the good news is when the real serious regular KABOOMing starts to take place they are pretty darn smart and leave our place for a while.
we been kinda letting them hang around until the wee lilz got a bit bigger , we took out one mom and lost another , but as you can see they seem to replenish the numbers quickly , been a big boar showing up this last week , he looks to be around 175 and a tough guy .
let me find an image of him , has that jim dandy stance and look to him

I ordered a whole hog for my upcoming birthday party. I chose to go with a 60 pounder. They come in a box, cleaned, shaved, and ready to go. Mine is still walking around right now, and has no idea that he has been invited to my Swamp Luau themed party. My buddy will be using his China Box to cook the devil. These do a fine job, but the real kicker is that they create tons of real pork rinds called Cracklins. I am not a big fan of cracklins but do enjoy digging into the loins and getting after that sweet meat.

In addition we will have fried Gator Tail and shrimp and Lil Smokies. I plan to make a nice fruit tray and a pickle tray. Beans and of course other stuff to round things out. Beer….lots of beer, wine and liquor. My wife is responsible for decorating of course and she has some pretty good ideas. The dogs are very excited and can’t wait.

I suppose your hogs will move away if you get to shooting them too much. If that is a concern then shoot them away from the feeder and leave that as a safe spot.

I had a troop of hogs showing up recently. Hadn’t ever seen a hog on my property before then. They were around for a few weeks then gone and haven’t been back. Could be they were searching for food or they might have been running away from some locals.

Right now I have a female turkey hanging out. She walks around pecking and scratching for bugs. Every year one shows up because she has a clutch of eggs nearby. She will remain alone until the eggs hatch, at which time she will leave in search of other mama hens. They mix the babies in together and everybody keeps and eye out for them. A mad turkey can be quite challenging you know.
Maybe they will bite this one……
