From my experience with my 7mm is that the round nose impacts pretty close to the spire points.
Thought I had plenty of 180 gr. pointed soft points but turn out they are 180 round nose Remington core-lock . I know and will sight in with these once I shoot my last 6 pointed soft points . What should I expect these accuracy wise ? I do have some 180 Hornady pointed soft points but have been trying to trade them for more Remington . My dad shot these in a BAR And had lots of kills with them but he was a dog hunter and mostly shots under 100 yds. . Will I be limited on distance compared to pointed soft points ?

A lot of then older hunters believed in using a round nose bullet for hunting in the brush. Said it said it would plow through brush better than a pointed bullet

what we saw back when about shooting "thru" brush was that lots of bullets would blow up and turn into shrapnel .
we ran a test to see the effectiveness of this style of shooting , we shot thru light thin as your finger mesquite .
not much didn't deflect or break up no matter what round and or bullet we put to the test .
one thing was noticeable though , the faster the cartridge the more it trashed the bullet .
i would tend to think round nose will be about as accurate if it is the same weight and obstruction free in it's travels .

The benchrest crowd shoots those hollow points with the tiny opening to trap that small bubble of air to create a tip. But those are target bullets and not a lot of good for hunting. Hard to beat a bonded or lokt core bullet for taking game no matter what the nose profile is

I have shot both in my 3006 and can’t tell any difference when sighting in. On the kill shot, I would have to say I like the round nose a little more maybe. I will shoot either with no hesitation.

I too have shot both out of an 06. I haven't been able to tell the difference. Most shots between 100 and 200 yds.
The different brands will make more of a difference than the nose type, because of different powder/load.

Gun is a 1976 Remington 30-06(22 inch barrel )(Trigger is set at 2.75 lbs. . barrel is glass bedded ) . About 2 inches high at 100. The last group was in a vertical touching(about 3 inches high ) . I could shootout to 400 but never have , My food plot is off the powerline and anything more than 100 is rare unless deer is on power line and not in food plot . . Shots do occur that I do take out to 250 yds. . MY 25-06 is set up for long range but I tend to use it as a back up and yote gun . Does well on deer but is not a left handed bolt as the 30-06 . Thought I had 5 boxes of 180 psp and turned out to be 180 round nose both Remington Core-lock .The older my eyes get I shoot 6O'clock on targets . I left this one alone due to it was the 2 inches high during low light the day before . If I hunt woods the 1100 3 inch magnum goes to the canebrake thickets . Since seeing Mr. no shoulders has become an issue I rarely hunt there in 70 ish degree Mississippi Decembers .
