Default Doubled up - wife’s first buck

11-5-21. We shot these bucks a 1/2 an hour apart. My wife’s is an 8 pt. and mine is a 10 pt. With a broken tine. My wife started hunting three years ago and has shot two does with me in her blind. This was her first deer shot by herself and her first buck. I shot mine before her. We were hunting a field edge and I can see her blind from my tree stand. I watched her buck come to her decoy and mule kick when she shot thru my binoculars. She called & said she killed a buck very excitedly. I said ‘well , we have two bucks down’. We both saw our bucks go down. She was so pumped ! I was so excited and proud of her ! Definitely one of my best hunting memories of 35 years of hunting. Name: IMG_1298.jpg

Great double there, heck, that is a home run! Looks like your buck is a year or two older, eh?

I figure 31/2 yr old on mine and 21/2 on hers. Mine field dressed at 190 & hers 150. We are lucky to deer hunt in central Illinois. Read your thread a few minutes ago. Sorry for your loss. I used to only wear a saftey harness untill I fell 18 ft. While climbing down. 5 broken bones in my foot and surgery. I was lucky. Now I’m always strapped to a lifeline. Thanks for sharing your tragedy with others to get peoples attention on saftey. Once again, sorry for your loss

Thanks to all for the kind responses. Now I just need that luck on a fall crappie bite. Crappie fishing is way harder than deer hunting for me. Lol.
