Try Barnes Vortex with all copper TTSX bullets. Just remember that with an all copper bullet, you generally drop down once size in weight from what you normally shoot.
Have been shooting 120 gr. coreloks . With Remington in the rearview mirror what would you recommend ? looking at 115 Nosler partioned by Federal . Any others you have used ? Gun is a 24 inch barrel Remington Classic .Deer hunting , almost forgot .

I can vouch for the barnes bullets, been using them for years.
Perfect expansion.
Be careful they are really sharp, when your skinning or butchering.

there was a time when i wanted a 25 06 really really bad
thats a mighty fine whitetail round
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
The Noslers are a great bullet and from a .25-06 will do a great job on deer at any sane range. Generally most any bullet will work on whitetails but with the velocity of a .25-06 some of the softer ones will come apart at closer ranges if bone is hit and can be pretty destructive.
The 25-06 is one of those calibers that I've just never had a real need for. It shines when you need a long-range rifle without the magnum recoil. However, it REALLY needs a long barrel. Anything less than 24" is brutal to shoot (muzzle blast) and you give up too much velocity. It really does best with 26" (or longer) barrels. For me, I almost never get to hunt any place with more than about a 150yd shot and I'm usually in a tree stand where a short barrel is an advantage.
My 25-06 has a 24 inch barrel (wish it was a 26 ). Will shoot .50 inch groups with factory ammo . Love it on power lines, gas lines and bean fields . Use a 22 inch barrel 30-06 for general hunting . 65 yrs. old and have given up climbing and hunt the wind now from the ground .
Remington is back in production, they are now owned by the same company as Federal and CCI. That being said it may take a while for them to catch up. I agree with the posters above that the Barnes TSX is a good projectile. I used them in my AR one year when I had a messed up shoulder and couldn’t use my regular deer rifle. I have since loaded them in several other cartridges and they are dynamite.

25-06 like the 30-06 are exceedingly popular guns primarily because of the many awesome variations of ammunition configurations that can be run through them. Another very important consideration is: Hopefully, we all can dodge this crazy newly proposed gun legislation and taxation fleecing (again) that promises to make owning any kind of gun or ammunition just another gewberment overregulated fee-based registration and taxation nightmare.

Where do the makers of Special K stand on that issue?
As for the bullets, i use 115 Bergers in mine.
