Get with a group I always thought it was a waste of time until I got a chance to go.Its a blast and can be a lot of work but it pays off!Try DU join a group, hire a guide,go see if you like it.Then start buying decoys, maybe a dog, maybe a boat!Enjoy

If you don’t know anyone that would take you your best bet is go with a guide. You might not even like it. You’ll spend more buying crap you don’t need than what you’ll pay a guide.

    Teal
    Gadwall
    Wood duck
    Pintail
    Mallard

In that order for taste imo

First thing you need to realize is ducks fall under federal laws and guidelines. You must have a federal stamp, state stamp, and steel shot. Just shooting any ducks that come by without knowing what you're killing, can get you in trouble big time. They are limits on every duck that flies. Best thing for you to do is find someone that hunts ducks, listen and learn.

    Go to these places.

    Ducks at a distance.
Great site that gives the caratistics of each bird how they look, flying formation, habitats, and eating quality.

    The refuge.com

Duck hunting chat.com. Both sites are dedicated to duck hunters. You will learn enough to get started. Since each area is different and birds behave different in different parts of the country. Pay attention to the state forums.
