While I was fishing my dog decided to tree a coon in the front yard. He hates coons. In the first pick you can see the coon in the top of the tree.

Good dog!

Far West Kentucky
Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
My favorite hunting is squirrel hunting with a 22
Lots of good squirrel dogs out there, lots of different breeds.Having owned a few squirrel dogs over the years,I tend to lean toward Mt curs.I like the versatility of their ability to duel hunt coon and squirrel, plus we have a lot of coyotes,a couple curs might fare better than smaller breeds against them.
Grew up hunting "tree rats" with a .410/.22 over and under and a very old Winchester bolt .22, great times. The development and accuracy of airguns, as well a the economics, has made them a great way to enjoy the sport with a "new" twist. As of now I shoot a Phantom .177 cal. springer, and after the break-in, is lethal on them without the distance a bullet travels, if you miss, that a .22 does. A .22 cal. travels quite distance when given the launch angle of shooting upward, not quite a safety issue in heavily wooded forests, but in smaller blocks of woods, that sometimes support good squirrel populations, the airgun is tops. Our state will be allowing hog and deer to be hunted with airguns this season for the first time. I know Alabama and Michigan are two other states that already allow deer hunting with airguns. PCP airguns give tremendous speeds, accuracy and the cal. size required by each state for the larger game.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.243RICK LIKED above post
Same here. Started hunting with a .22 when about 6 years old. Lived adjacent to public forest hunting areas all my life. The people population in this area has increased. I switched to air rifles a few years ago & haven't looked back. My last one was a FX .25 caliber Gladiator. It's as accurate as any of the .22 rifles that I've ever owned & I've had some good 'uns.

The Three look like my Brothers dogs and they loved hunting Squirrels.. His named Mo Mo - Sissy and Scooter. Mo Mo watched the tree and no matter if the Quarry jumped to 10 trees he never lost where it went ... The last of them died and Bro was heartbroken
Just a few pics from this season so far
