So what do you think the deer will do when this snow/sleet ends tonite? It will be below 35 for the next few days.

We're getting the winter storm as I write this, the deer were hitting our safe zone deer feeder earlier today, but I'm guessing they are hunkered down right now.We are expecting the sleet, and rain to turn to snow by morning, they will be hitting the feeder for sure.Temps are going back down to single digits at night, mid twenties during the day, that really gets them moving.

we saw 83 deer in one food plot and at the same time across the fence 20 plus in the neighbors oat patch last week when it was really cold in the morning
I saw 47 the last time I went on my side of the river in total and they were as we say yarded up well in large groups typical when winter sets in .
food is a priority when its cold , I think they say they eat 4 to 6 lbs of vittles a day ?

I normally see 10-20 deer a year ! have seen 11 this season . I envy you fellows . I have hunted areas that have more but It's a "hunt" to find legal bucks most years .

I have seen only 5 deer this year, two on opening day. Deer pattern you as you hunt and stay away from areas you use. but the biggest thing is the deer change where they move when there are no leaves to help them hide. I went out to track and find where they move in the snow. All the Trails they use early in the year was completely devoid of tracks and it took over Two Hours Trudging through the snow to find any tracks. there were no tracks on any trail the Bucks had rubbed the sapplings. None of the corn feeders at the food plots had been visited and trails used early in the year, Nothing!!!! I took Orange, and yellow flaging tape and marked the trails being used and where a new stand can be built in the woods. where trails crossed I used both colors.
