    Default my first longbeard

Never killed a turkey before this year. Moved to Moore County and joined a club that seems to have better numbers than land I've hunted in the past. Killed a jake 2 weeks ago, but finally nailed my first longbeard Saturday morning nice and early, before 7:00 AM. 1 inch spurs and 10.5" beard. Only weighed 16 lbs though, not sure what that's all about. Was quiet as a church mouse coming in. Lots of fun, and nice to be tagged out. Can't wait till next year!

Congratulations! Turkey hunting is more addictive than anything I've ever experienced.

Nice bird. Congratulations on tagging out.

Turkeys own me and they squeeze a little tighter every year. Have fun with the addiction.

congrats and coming quiet isn't unusual, at 16 lbs probably 2 year old subordinate bird and wants to breed but not get attacked by Dominant Tom who would be bigger and probably older. And agree you are now HOOKED and it is an obsession even more powerful than OCD. obsessive crappie disorder. enjoy, it's all good and as it usually coincides with spawn can be a great intense time.

Very nice. I do not hunt, but have been seeing a few lately. Saw 4 today around the dam at Pickwick. Really an awesome bird to see.

With the beard length I would guess 3 years old but I never hunted eastern birds .....coming in quiet isn't unusual for birds in Texas though and the young ones typically call more than the bosses do from what I have seen .....anyway it's a dandy bird and congratulations
