Some gun shops will take guns on consignment for a flat percentage fee.
If you do that, keep tabs on it and remind them when its no longer on the rack.

hard to get that on em at a pawn shop or gun shop, try to find an individual to buy it, and get a ffl to do a private party transfer so you know they are able to own a gun (if it is a stranger) gun will bring $300 or so (+/- $50 depending on condition) love my weatherbys!
Check out Armslist for posting your rifle. Keep in mind, there are a lot of gun jockeys on there but it will get your rifle seen by the masses. Free to post too.
Another note, with all of the very accurate and cheap synthetic stocked rifles out there these days, a rifle like your 20 year old Vanguard may not be very highly sought after. You can get a new Vanguard for about $500. Entirely different story if it were a W. German Mark V. Not trying to discourage you but just giving you an honest take on it from someone who loves and owns Weatherby rifles.
