Default Grandson shot his first goose

My 2 sons and I are avid waterfowlers and try to get out together as often as we can on weekends. The last couple years my grandkids have been following along and helping with dragging out decoys, brushing up the blinds, etc.
This year grandson Aiden (age 9 ) wanted to shoot a goose, which to be honest, I didn't think he was big enough to handle a 12 guage shotgun..... but he felt he was up to the task. So my son, Steve Jr. agreed he could have 1 shot. Because of Aidens size and age Jr. wanted to get him the very best/perfect shot he could. Since Aiden can't "swing" a shotgun he was going to have to wait for the goose to fly perfectly into the "sight picture" of the direction of the shotgun was pointed. The 12 guage rested on the front of the layout blind.......waiting.
I'm going to tell you the wait was brutal.....painfully brutal with all the geese that was coming into the decoys, but wait we did until finally a goose came perfectly into Aidens site picture.
And then 1 shot from Aiden and his first goose was on the ground!
I'll tell you one thing, there wasn't a more proud "papa" than me! We were all proud of his accomplishment and it will be one of my most memorable hunts ever.
Aiden was tickled he got to be in a "hero" picture and actually was one of the hunters this time.

Yeah, his shooting hand took a bit of a hit from the recoil ( trigger guard ), but a while later he didn't mention it anymore.
