Congratulations! Nice Deer! What was his weight? Thanks for sharing.
I have had one of the best hunting seasons so far in my hunting career. I took half a day on Nov. 7th my friend were joining me on a weekend hunt but not able to arrive until after dark.
As I made my way to my stand I was kneeling down to set up my buck decoy and no more than 15 yds from me a yearling stands up directly under my stand and trots off into the woods, I took that as an excellent sign. After a short hour sit I heard movement behind my stand and saw 3 does walking past in the woods. They no more than wandered off when I heard a noise walking behind me again, this time it was more of a shuffling foot dragging and turned around to a MONSTER buck just cruising, I grunted at him and he began my way directly down wind! He stopped, and we had a stare down for nearly 15 minutes and he walked off the way he had come from. I continued to look that direction but he was not going to circle back. I turned my head an 75 yds in front of me a buck was headed for my decoy. He came in slowly, giving me enough time to realize he would fill a tag and that he would be in trouble if he came close enough. Sure enough the decoy had his attention, he snort wheezed and grunted several times and finally squared up with the decoy, layed his ears back and bristled up his coat. He was distracted by the decoy and gave me a chance to draw and took an easy broadside 15yd shot. He managed to run about 150yds but the tracking was easy.

Awesome story. I love fishing, but sitting in a tree stand with my bow just revitalizes my soul.
Here fishy, fishy, fishy...
