Over twenty years ago a couple of my hunting buddies and I were out doing some preseason scouting when we came across some very fresh rubs. Upon further observation I noticed that a couple of the rubs, and a fern near the rubs had blood on them. It was obvious that buck had been there very recently and probably was in the process of losing his velvet. Just as I said look around for velvet, my buddy Stan looked down, and low and behold there it was laying right there at the base of one of the rubbed trees. One complete side of velvet from an eight point, still wet with blood was just sitting there for us. I still have it to this day and have never found any before or since that day.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D
Seen lots of it hanging off the antlers, but never seen it come off like that before. Interesting.
