Friday evenings hunt video
So while the majority of hunters in Northern Michigan are out trying to kill a turkey, I'm out chasing the elusive Black Morel mushroom. The crazy thing is I love the taste of wild turkey and can't stand the taste of mushrooms, but I would much rather hunt for mushrooms than turkeys. Huh, go figure. So maybe there is some truth to all the strange things that us old Pollocks do. Anyhow, hope you all enjoy the video.

i enjoyed the video. if i was in michigan i would be asking to trade for some turkey meat, but oh well. i do some foraging, too...but i dont know enough about mushrooms yet to do it right. hen of the woods, sure...but theres no mistaking them.
fiddleheads all over the place here, now. anyway, thanks for posting that. good stuff

We actually pick a batch or two of the fiddleheads when they are just emerging from the ground and the heads are still curled tight. Wipe the fuzz off and sauté them onion and garlic. Now those I like. I managed to get out last evening on the way home and picked 60 more morels in 20 minutes.Originally Posted by gelauck
