Unhappy Any thoughts on why the shortage of .22LR?

    I can't find any .22LR shells. I live 8 miles from Cabela's and can't buy a box of .22LR bullets.
Are the idiots in Washington sending them all to the muslim brotherhood or what? This is rediculous.

The shortage is because they are the cheapest ammo and because just about everybody has a 22. All ammo is hard to find right now....people are hoarding it up due to riseing prices and fear about gun and ammo controls etc.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

We have a local gun store in our area and I've been told that a certain big chain superstore puts ammo out every morning and the owner sends his guys over there to buy it all up and bring it back to his store. Now this is what is wrong with America.

It is my opinion; The Government is out bidding ammo wholesalers and going up and over the usual prices to make sure that "they" get it bought up! Check me out for this is what I heard and it makes sense. That is one way to keep ammo prices high so no common man/woman can afford it. ?/! They can't ban anything but high capacity magazines but they,,... buy it up to dry it up! This may be a rumor but it sure sounds about right on par!

I've heard military contracts have ammo manufacturers busy and this gun scare has everyone buy'n the rest.

I spoke with a maintenance man who works at the Remington plant in Lonoke and he said they are working around the clock and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Did you guys see where Cheaper than Dirt was refusing to sell huge amounts of ammo to Government and other businesses trying to hoard or stockpile ammo. I have not looked in detail at this but supposedly they were only selling to individual personal use buyers. Good for them if they are doing this.
