    Pretty cool video, slabsrus.

I've never seen duck hunting done that way. Paddling around in open water in a kayak, flushing ducks and then knock them down with a single-shot shotgun. I hunt out of a kayak too, but I only use it to get myself into a spot. Then I park it and stand by a tree or in buck brush or other cover. One time I tried hunting out of it and I nearly dumped myself in the river when I swung the gun to shoot.

Congrats again on a good looking greenhead, and hats off to your shooting skills.

Thanks. I have been hunting out of the kayak since the late 1980s and learned early on that jump shooting can be very rewarding when done right and with a bit of luck. It is really great when the aquatic grasses are standing about 30 inches above the water and you can not see the birds until they flush. Sort of like hunting pheasant or grouse from a boat. And the open water jumping for divers can be awsome but I have to be aware of the wind at all times. One of the lakes I hunt is over 20,000 acres so the wind can come up or change quite quickly. Definitely not recommended for the novice.

Cool video Frank. Great job. That's looks very thrilling ans exciting, especially being out that far in open "cold as heck" water, shooting a shotgun!
